It’s gonna get better

It seems that for many people 2016 was a pretty bad year. All around the world people are talking about what they have gone through and how they are happy the year is over and they can start new for 2017.

So many negative things have happened globally over the past 12 months. There has been a lot of pain, frustration, and uncertainty.

And as individuals, we have all dealt with our own personal challenges. You may have lost a loved one, ended a relationship, suffered financial loss, had difficulty with your children, or any number of other things that can rob your peace and balance.

I’ve had my own issues to deal with too, so I totally get it. Many things in my life did not turn out as planned during 2016. And many things going on in our nation and in the world concern me deeply.

But this is the time to remember that change begins with us. Each and every one of us has the power to make things better. We can’t stop wars, but we can bring peace into our own hearts and radiate that to all those around us.

We can’t cure cancer, but we can give comfort to someone who is dealing with the anxiety and upheaval that cancer causes.

We can’t bring back a loved one who has left us through death or the ending of a relationship, but we can give our love to others who are still here.

There are so many things, little and big, that each and every one of us can do to make life better for others. And here’s the best part: when you do something good for someone else, good things will happen to you. You cannot out give. It all comes back to you multiplied.

This doesn’t eliminate bad things from happening, but it makes them easier to deal with. It’s a ripple effect that can have far reaches out into the world. You give to others, and then your life begins to change for the better.

That’s how to have a more fulfilling and exceptional year in 2017.

Before we get fully immersed in the new year, look back and make note of all the good things that happened to you during 2016. If you’re still breathing, that’s one right there. Now keep going.
