It’s time to invite the Fab Four into your home

The Fab Four. No, I’m not talking about the Beatles. I’m talking about the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Why is it important to invite the Fab Four into your home? Individually, they each have healing properties that help to make your life better. Collectively, they help to create a beautiful and calming sacred space in your home.

Here is a brief explanation of what they can do for you as well as some simple ways to bring them into your space.

Earth: The Earth helps us to stay grounded. Not only does it provide fertile soil for planting the seeds that will ultimately nourish our bodies, it also provides a place to symbolically plant seeds that will feed our souls.

There are many ways to bring more of the earth element into your home. One of the simplest is to surround yourself with houseplants. If you don’t think you have a green thumb, or if live plants seem like too much work, opt for fresh flowers. It’s easy to pick up flowers at the grocery store while you’re doing your weekly shopping and have them in your home all the time.

Crystals are another great way to bring in the earth element. Crystals are beautiful to gaze upon, and they also have a high vibration that can help with emotional and physical healing. Find them at your local crystal shop, at gem shows, and online. Choose crystals that resonate with you. Deep red and black crystals are the best for staying grounded, but all crystals can help to create a sacred feeling in your home

You can also have pictures of beautiful landscapes to bring in a sense of grounding, peace, and comfort. Again, select what resonates with you and makes you feel good.

Air: We cannot live without air. It is the life force that clears and calms our minds and our bodies. Practicing deep breathing techniques is one simple way to bring in the element of air. Taking deep breaths can bring a sense of peace into chaotic or stressful situations.

It’s also beneficial to keep windows open whenever you can…even if it’s just a couple of inches for just a few minutes at a time. This helps to keep the energy of air circulating in your home.

On a more practical level, changing your air filters on schedule is another way to help with the air flow in your home.

Fire: Fire is purifying and energizing. It helps to clear away that which no longer serves you. If you have a fireplace in your home, use it. It doesn’t matter whether it’s wood or gas, the flames symbolize the burning away of the old to make room for the new.

Lighting a candle is probably the easiest way to bring the fire element into your home. Each time your match touches the wick, set an intention for what you would like to manifest into your life. Whether you are seeking more love, abundance, peace, anything, say it silently, or out loud if you’re comfortable doing that, to make your intention known.

And be sure to open your curtains and blinds to let the sunlight in. Don’t close yourself off to the healing energy of the sun. Even on cloudy or rainy days, the sun is still there ready to help you transform your life.

Water: To create flow in your life and wash away what is no longer wanted, bring the element of water into your home. This is as easy as taking a detoxifying bath with Epsom or sea salt and some essential oils. Or, if a bath isn’t your thing, use the power of intention when you take a shower to imagine all your troubles washing down the drain.

Another way to create flow and movement is by having a tabletop fountain in your home. They can be found online, and sometimes beautiful handmade fountains are available at arts and crafts shows.

Pictures of water–either paintings or photographs–are another way to bring in the water element. Images of waterfalls are especially powerful.

As you can see, it’s very easy to bring in any or all of the four elements into your home. And each step that you take will increase the sense of sacredness in your space, bringing you peace and comfort whenever you’re at home.
