Lavender is one of the most well known and best loved essential oils in the world. And there are good reasons for Its popularity.
Not only does it smell wonderful, it also has many health benefits.
Lavender is very calming and relaxing…both physically and emotionally. It can help you sleep better at night as well as help to reduce stress and anxiety. For these reasons, Lavender is a fantastic oil to help create sacred space in your home…especially in the evening when you are winding down. My favorite way to use Lavender for its emotional benefit is to diffuse it.
It’s also great to add to a bath along with some Epsom Salt: Mix in 10 drops of Lavender with one cup of salt and pour into the tub for a relaxing, in-home spa experience.
Lavender is also good for skin issues. Sunburns, burns, bug bites, cuts, and scrapes can all benefit from a drop or two of Lavender oil.
Lavender oil is also known as the oil of communication. Applying a drop or two on the throat or back of the neck helps one to speak their truth from the heart.

Here is a recipe for DIY Lavender Linen Spray:
6 tablespoons distilled water
2 tablespoons witch hazel or vodka (as a preservative)
10 drops Lavender essential oil
Mix together in a measuring cup or small jar and then pour into a 4-ounce glass spray bottle.
I like to use the measuring cup because the spout makes it easy to pour into the bottle. If you mix in a jar, you might need a funnel to keep from spilling as you transfer the mixture.
Shake the bottle well before each use, and spray desired amount onto your pillows at bedtime. You can also spritz this mixture around any room anytime you want a fresh scent.
